Effective date: November 22, 2025

1. Who We Are

This Privacy Policy explains how Lumica Labs LLC (“Lumica Labs”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use our mobile application Dad Quiz! (the “App”) and related services.

If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy, you can contact us at:

2. Scope of This Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to information we collect through the App and any support pages or contact channels we operate that link to this policy. It does not apply to third-party websites, services, or apps that we do not control, even if they are linked from the App.

3. Information We Collect

3.1 Information You Provide to Us

We may collect information that you voluntarily provide, such as:

  • Contact information, such as your name and email address, when you contact support or sign up for optional features.
  • Account information, such as your email and basic profile details, if you choose to sign in using a third-party provider (e.g., Google).
  • Feedback and communications, including the content of messages you send us and any information you include in those messages.

3.2 Information Collected Automatically

When you use the App, certain information may be collected automatically, including:

  • Device information (e.g., device model, operating system version, language, time zone).
  • Log and usage data, such as the screens you view, features you use, in-app actions, session duration, and crash reports.
  • Identifiers such as your IP address and mobile advertising identifiers (e.g., Apple’s IDFA), where permitted by your device settings.

3.3 Information from Third-Party Services

If you choose to sign in with or otherwise use third-party services, those services may share certain information with us, for example:

  • Authentication providers (e.g., Google Sign-In) may share your name, email address, and profile image, according to their own privacy policies and your settings with them.
  • Analytics and advertising partners (e.g., Firebase, Google AdMob) may collect and share analytics and device data as described in their own privacy policies.

We do not control how third-party providers collect or use your information. Please review their privacy policies for more details.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for purposes such as:

  • Providing and maintaining the App, including operating core features and ensuring functionality.
  • Improving the App, including understanding how users interact with the App and making product, content, and design improvements.
  • Personalizing your experience, such as tailoring content difficulty, reminders, or in-app messaging.
  • Communicating with you, including responding to support requests and sending important updates, security notices, or policy changes.
  • Analytics and performance monitoring, including measuring usage trends, diagnosing technical issues, and preventing abuse.
  • Advertising and monetization, including showing and measuring the performance of ads where applicable.
  • Legal and safety purposes, such as enforcing our terms, detecting fraudulent or harmful activity, and complying with applicable laws.

5. Legal Bases for Processing (EEA/UK Users)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, our legal bases for processing your personal data may include:

  • Performance of a contract – to provide the App and related services you request.
  • Legitimate interests – to improve the App, maintain security, and perform analytics and advertising, where our interests are not overridden by your rights and interests.
  • Consent – where required (for example, for certain types of advertising or analytics, or if we ask for permission to access specific data). You can withdraw consent at any time in your device settings or in-app where applicable.
  • Legal obligations – to comply with applicable laws and regulations.

6. How We Share Information

We may share information in the following circumstances:

  • Service providers: We work with third-party companies that help us operate and improve the App (e.g., hosting, analytics, crash reporting, customer support, advertising). These providers are allowed to process your information only as needed to provide services to us and are not permitted to use it for their own unrelated purposes.
  • Advertising and analytics partners: We may allow partners like Google AdMob and Firebase to collect information about your use of the App so they can help us measure and improve performance and show ads where applicable.
  • Business transfers: If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of all or part of our business, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
  • Legal and safety reasons: We may disclose information if we believe in good faith that it is necessary to comply with a legal obligation, protect our rights, investigate fraud or security issues, or protect the safety of our users or others.
  • With your consent: We may share information in other ways if we have your permission to do so.

We do not sell your personal information in the traditional sense of “sale” (i.e., exchanging it for money). Some laws define “sale” more broadly to include certain types of sharing for advertising; where such definitions apply, we will comply with relevant requirements.

7. Third-Party Services We Use

The App may use third-party services that collect information independently of us. These may include:

  • Google Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics)
  • Google AdMob (advertising)

These third parties may collect information such as device identifiers, usage data, and location (where permitted) to provide analytics, crash reporting, and ad services. Please refer to their respective privacy policies for more details on how they handle your data.

8. Children’s Privacy

The App is intended for adults (such as parents and caregivers) and is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

If you believe that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at help@lumicalabs.ai, and we will take steps to delete such information where required by law.

9. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law (for example, to comply with legal, accounting, or reporting obligations).

We may retain aggregated or de-identified information that does not identify you for longer periods for analytics, product improvement, or other legitimate purposes.

10. Your Rights and Choices

10.1 In-App and Device Controls

  • You may be able to adjust certain permissions (e.g., notifications) within the App or your device settings.
  • You can reset your mobile advertising identifier in your device settings or limit ad tracking in your device’s privacy settings.

10.2 Access, Deletion, and Correction

Depending on your location, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information. To exercise these rights, please contact us at help@lumicalabs.ai. We may ask you to verify your identity before fulfilling your request.

10.3 Region-Specific Rights

If you are located in certain jurisdictions (such as the EEA, UK, or California), you may have additional rights with respect to your personal information, including the right to object to certain processing, request data portability, or opt out of certain types of data “sale” or sharing as defined by local law. We will honor these rights in accordance with applicable law.

10.4 “Do Not Track” Signals

Some browsers transmit “Do Not Track” signals. There is currently no universally accepted standard for responding to such signals, and we do not respond to them at this time. However, you can use other controls described above to manage your privacy preferences.

11. International Data Transfers

We are based in the United States, and the information we collect may be transferred to and processed in the United States and other countries that may have data protection laws different from those in your jurisdiction.

Where required by law, we take appropriate measures to protect personal information in connection with such transfers, such as using contractual protections or other recognized safeguards.

12. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to help protect your information against accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, and unauthorized disclosure or access. However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Effective date” at the top of this page. In some cases, we may also provide additional notice (such as in-app messaging or email) if required by law.

Your continued use of the App after the updated policy becomes effective means that you have read and understood the updated policy.
